Carlos Velasco bio

Carlos Velasco is an accomplished musician and composer from Mexico City. The son of a mariachi, Carlos has been surrounded by music since childhood. His main instruments are simply guitar and voice, but he also plays the piano, bass, flute, and violin. Having trained at the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica, Carlos is well versed in many styles of music, with his core being Latin Jazz. Besides his native Spanish, Carlos sings in eight different languages, including French, Italian, English, Polish, & Portuguese.

Carlos's most recent album, "Solea de la Noche," was a monumental achievement.  He had the honor of recording with famed Brazilian percussionist, Paulinho Da Costa, former Stan Getz bassist, Brian Bromberg, and smooth jazz pianist Dan Siegel. The album also features Carlos's good friends Javier Vergara (of Poncho Sanchez fame) on saxophone, and Gilbert Castellanos on flugelhorn. Carlos is currently working on his second studio album, scheduled for release in summer of 2017.
